Abuse

iSeekSupport recognises your right to feel safe and to live in an environment where you are protected from assault, neglect, exploitation or any other form of abuse.

We encourage and support any person who has witnessed the abuse towards one of our participants or suspects that abuse has occurred to make a report and be confident of doing so without fear of retribution.

Our reporting process includes any kind of abuse, including financial, emotional, social, psychological, sexual, physical abuse or neglect.

You can make a report to whomever you feel comfortable and safe with; this may include one of our employees, our Practice Manager, a family member, your advocate or a trusted friend.

If you would like to speak with someone outside of iSeekSupport, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission:

iSeekSupport acknowledges that prevention is the best protection from abuse and neglect and recognises our duty of care to put in place prevention strategies that include appropriate protocols that assist in identifying potential risks. Our prevention strategies include only employing skilled Support Workers, who respect the rights of participants and who are aware of current legislation and policies regarding abuse and neglect.

Our Support Workers can assist you, your family or advocate, to access our complaints process and raise any concerns regarding our service provision.

Where abuse, harm or neglect has occurred, iSeekSupport will respond quickly, considerately and effectively to protect you from any further harm. We will provide you with access to any required counselling, medical and/or legal assistance.

When you make allegations of abuse, neglect, violence, exploitation or discrimination, you have the right to have an advocate present. iSeekSupport can arrange this for you.
